Turning Point: 9/11 and the War on Terror

This five-part docuseries is a cohesive chronicle of the September 11, 2001 attacks on the U.S., offering illuminating perspectives and personal stories of how the catastrophic events of that day changed the course of the nation. From the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan in 1979 to the country’s breathtaking collapse back into the hands of the Taliban just weeks before the twentieth anniversary of the attacks, history continues to be made.

Twenty years after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, Director Brian Knappenberger ( Nobody Speak: Trials of the Free Press ) examines the fallout from The ‘War on Terror’ that the US started afterwards. The war in Afghanistan is also extensively discussed in the series. With interviews from administration officials, ex-CIA members, U.S. veterans, Afghanistan National Army soldiers, Taliban commanders, Afghan government officials, Afghan warlords, Afghan civilians and survivors, and answers the questions of “what went wrong”.
