Seaspiracy exposes the impact of fishing on marine life.

Passionate about ocean life, a filmmaker sets out to document the harm that humans do to marine species — and uncovers alarming global corruption.

The documentary deals with the impact of fishing on marine wildlife, directed by Ali Tabrizi. The film investigates the effects of plastic marine debris, overfishing around the world and argues that commercial fisheries are the main driver of marine ecosystem destruction.

It criticises the Earth Island Institute and its Dolphin safe label as well as the certification of the Marine Stewardship Council. As alternatives to their products, Seaspiracy proposes marine reserves and the elimination of fish consumption. The documentary also covers modern slavery within the fishing industry.
