If you’re staying in on Valentine’s Day, why not cuddle up on the couch with your honey, bestie or blankie and watch a Rom Com?

There are plenty of romantic comedies to choose from on movie streaming websites, so we’ve listed our Top 10 favourites to make it easier for you.

From classics like Audrey Hepburn’s ‘Roman Holiday’, to the appropriately named ‘Valentine’s Day’, these Rom Coms will make you laugh, cry and sigh!

1. Valentine’s Day (Netflix)

How many story lines can you fit into one movie? A lot, apparently! In this funny and moving Rom Com, intertwining couples and singles in Los Angeles break-up and make-up based on the pressures and expectations of Valentine’s Day. The movie stars Julia Roberts, Jamie Foxx, Ashton Kucher and Jennifer Garner, and many more!

2. When Harry Met Sally (Netflix)

An 80’s classic full of love and laughter! Harry and Sally have known each other for years, and are very good friends, but they fear sex would ruin the friendship. An old favourite starring Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan in their Rom Com prime.

3. Roman Holiday (NOW TV – Sky Cinema)

Roman Holiday is vintage romantic comedy at it’s best, starring Audrey Hepburn and  Gregory Peck. In the story, a bored and sheltered princess escapes her guardians and falls in love with an American newsman in Rome. This is the kind of romantic movie you can watch over again!

4. My Best Friend’s Wedding (Netflix)

You can’t go wrong with this funny 90’s Rom Com starring Starring Julia Roberts, Dermot Mulroney, and Cameron Diaz. When a woman’s long-time friend reveals he’s engaged, she realizes she loves him herself and sets out to get him, with only days before the wedding. Worth watching for the music!

5. Knocked up (NOW TV – Sky Cinema)

For fun-loving party animal Ben Stone, the last thing he ever expected was for his one-night stand to show up on his doorstep eight weeks later to tell him she’s pregnant with his child.  Starring Seth Rogen and Katherine Heigl, this hilarious movie is more Com than Rom!

6. 50 First Dates (NOW TV – Sky Cinema)

‘Groundhog Day’ meets ‘The Wedding Singer’! Henry Roth (Adam Sandler) is a man afraid of commitment up until he meets the beautiful Lucy (Drew Barrymore). They hit it off and Henry think he’s finally found the girl of his dreams, until he discovers she has short-term memory loss and forgets him the next day.

7. Hitch (NOW TV – Sky Cinema)

Will Smith is Hitch! While helping his latest client woo the fine lady of his dreams, a professional “date doctor” finds that his game doesn’t quite work on the gossip columnist, Sara Melas (Eva Mendes), with whom he’s smitten.

8. Leap Year (Netflix)

Amy Adams and Matthew Goode are adorable in this Rom Com with a twist! Anna Brady plans to travel to Dublin, Ireland to propose marriage to her boyfriend Jeremy on Leap Day, because, according to Irish tradition, a man who receives a marriage proposal on a leap day must accept it.

9. Man Up (Amazon Prime)

A single woman takes the place of a stranger’s blind date, which leads to her finding the perfect boyfriend. Thanks to fine performances from Lake Bell and Simon Pegg, Man Up largely strikes the deceptively difficult balance between romance and comedy.

10. Down with Love (Amazon Prime)

Ewan McGregor and Renée Zellweger are funny in this post-modern sex comedy set in the early 1960s centering upon a love affair between a best-selling advice author and a hotshot journalist/playboy.
