Red Hot Chili Peppers – Dark Necessities

“Dark Necessities” from Red Hot Chili Peppers  is the first single from their eleventh studio album, The Getaway. After announcing the single through their Twitter page on May 2, 2016, the single was released three days later on May 5, 2016. The music video was released on June 16, 2016 and soon is causing a radical reception.

As the tune starts in earnest, the music seems to sync up with the action, and the skateboard girls from earlier can be seen taking to the streets on their boards.

Singer Anthony reappears with some wild circular shades and a multicolored ball cap with a flat bill.

More cuts between the band and the skateboarders follow, and it soon becomes clear why the initial girl was bleeding, as all the skateboarders start experiencing violent falls.

Olivia Wilde played the wife of a recording mogul in HBO’s Vinyl the actress has landed her first ever music video directing gig when she was tapped to helm the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ video for their brand new single.
