Creative “it girl” Melanie Martinez self directs this hugely successful video clip for her massive fan base, her rise to fame started when she auditioned for the American television vocal talent show The Voice and became a member of Team Adam (Levine) from Maroon 5. Within the fifth week, she was eliminated which subsequently led to her beginning independent work on original material with her talented velvety singing voice.
With her iconic looks and tatoos, The Guardian called her image “doll-like and decidedly emo…hyperreal,” and described her music as “part-nursery rhyme, part tragic life story”
