Deadpool 2: The Final Trailer

The latest, and probably last, trailer before the release of Deadpool 2 next month has plenty of action (slo-mo or otherwise) but the big moment for comic fans might be an exchange of insults between new series villain Cable (Josh Brolin) and Ryan Reynolds’ maskless, disfigured Wade.

“You’re not f*cking hero,” spits Cable, after plunging a knife into Deadpool’s shoulder. “You’re just a clown dressed up as a sex toy.”

The wounded Wade pained response: “So dark. You sure you’re not from the DC universe?”

By now you’ve probably read the Fox logline for the sequel, but just in case: After surviving a near fatal bovine attack, a disfigured cafeteria chef (Wade Wilson) struggles to fulfill his dream of becoming Mayberry’s hottest bartender while also learning to cope with his lost sense of taste. Searching to regain his spice for life, as well as a flux capacitor, Wade must battle ninjas, the yakuza, and a pack of sexually aggressive canines, as he journeys around the world to discover the importance of family, friendship, and flavor – finding a new taste for adventure and earning the coveted coffee mug title of World’s Best Lover.

The actual plot of the sequel to 20th Century Fox and Marvel’s X-Men-ish blockbuster 2016 pic that became the biggest R-rated movie of all time ($783.1 million global gross) is more like this: Mutant baddie Cable is out to assassinate a young boy (Julian Dennison) and some new Marvel characters — or as Wade calls them his “super duper f*cking group” — are out to stop him.

The new trailer showcases the pack: Zazie Beets‘ Domino, Terry Crews‘ Bedlam and Lewis Tan‘s Shatterstar. There also Rob Delaney‘s hired killer Peter, and a long-haired T.J. Miller helping Deadpool as some sort of superhero human resources guy.

David Leitch is directing Deadpool 2 from Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick’s screenplay. Deadpool 2 hits theaters May 18.
