Get ready for more marmalade mayhem! The first trailer for Paddington 3, titled “Paddington in Peru”, has arrived. Arriving in theaters this November, the beloved bear travels to South America with the Brown family for a visit with his Aunt Lucy.
There’s a twist though! Upon arrival, a guitar-playing nun (played by Olivia Colman) informs them that Aunt Lucy is missing, having embarked on a mysterious scientific expedition.
To aid in their search, a swashbuckling sailor played by Antonio Banderas joins the crew. Fan favorites are also back, including Ben Whishaw as Paddington’s voice, Hugh Bonneville as Mr. Brown, Imelda Staunton as Aunt Lucy’s voice (though not physically appearing), Jim Broadbent as Mr. Gruber, and Julie Walters as Mrs. Bird.
There’s a new face for Mrs. Brown, however, with Emily Mortimer taking over the role from Sally Hawkins. The first two films’ director, Paul King, is handing off the reins to Dougal Wilson for this adventure, though King crafted the story.
Paddington 1 and 2 were global hits, raking in over $500 million and earning rave reviews. The bear even had a memorable appearance alongside Queen Elizabeth II for the platinum jubilee celebrations in 2022.
