Following the release of their hit single ‘Natural’ in July, Imagine Dragons have now unveiled the cinematic music video for their bombastic song.
The sepia-soaked video includes plenty of moody visuals and gothic scenes that look like something straight out of Ryan Murphy’s American Horror Story meets Eyes Wide Shut. The video depicts Dan Reynolds as a latter-day Miss Havisham in an old house that’s fallen into ruin.
Dressed in Civil War era garb, Reynolds is also joined by an eerie cast of characters and scenes of someone being buried alive and the band rocking out in a field. It’s no ‘Thriller’, but it certainly reminds you that Fall is coming. This Southern gothic vibe of the visuals is only compounded with the backing gospel vocals of the rocking track.
‘Natural’ already hit No. 5 on the alternative radio chart and is the newest single since band released their smash album, Evolve, that’s already been certified double-platinum within a year of its June 2017 release.
The band also gave a rousing rendition of ‘Natural’ recently on Jimmy Kimmel Live during their performance at Summerfest in Milwaukee last month. ‘Natural’ was also recently chosen as the anthem of this year’s ESPN college football season.
The new single also helped the band break a Billboard record, making them the first act to occupy the top four spots on the Hot Rock Songs chart, as previously reported.
Imagine Dragons continue their trek on their Evolve World Tour this summer, playing Lollapalooza in Berlin and returning to the states for IHeartRadio festival in Las Vegas in September.
