If you’ve already seen “The Greatest Showman,” you’ve probably been humming the songs ever since you left the theater.
If you haven’t, you’re in luck because special sing-along screenings of the Hugh Jackman musical open in theaters. The sing-along version displays the songs’ lyrics on the screen, allowing the audience to harmonize along with Jackman and co-stars Zac Efron, Michelle Williams, Zendaya and Keala Settle.
The film, inspired by the life of P.T. Barnum, has been a surprise hit with moviegoers since its release around Christmas, earning an “A” grade on Cinemascore and raking in $81 million at the box office.
The music, from “La La Land” and “Dear Evan Hansen” songwriters Benj Pasek and Justin Pauhas, has been an even bigger hit. The soundtrack has spent two weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart and has four singles (“This Is Me,” “Rewrite the Stars,” “Never Enough” and “The Greatest Show”) on Billboard’s Hot 100. “This Is Me,” performed in the film by Settle with a pop version by Kesha, recently won Best Original Song at the Golden Globes.
