An out-of-control ferry slammed into a breakwater at Las Palmas in the Canary Islands on Friday, and over a dozen people were injured. The accident was captured on video which went viral over the weekend, picking up nearly 1 million views on YouTube alone!
Spanish authorities say 13 people sustained injuries when the Volcán de Tamasite lost control and collided head on with the concrete pier. The owner of the ferry, Naviera Armas, has blamed the accident on a loss of electrical power.
The ferry was reportedly carrying about 140 passengers when the accident occurred. A small oil slick was observed in the area. (via gcaptain.com)
