DJ Khaled kicked off his Father of Asahd album rollout with the project’s heavily anticipated single “No Brainer” on Friday (July 27). The Miami native reconnected with his superstar cast of “I’m The One” collaborators, sans Lil Wayne, in Justin Bieber, Quavo, and Chance The Rapper. 2018’s “No Brainer” finds Bieber delivering a tuneful chorus and anchoring the track’s final verse, with Huncho and Chano going back-to-back earlier on the Davidior and Nic Nac co-produced potential banger.
Just an hour after the summer anthem’s release, DJ Khaled dropped off the cinematic coinciding visual to the bubbly “No Brainer.” The video begins on the set of a movie in Hollywood with “We The Best” replacing the typical white Hollywood Sign. Bieber helms the director chair alongside Khaled and Asahd. One scene is absolutely oozing with Wayne’s World vibes as the 42-year-old and Justin stand atop the faux clouds.
Product placement is heavily displayed throughout the blockbuster, boasting different liquors from Bumbu to Ciroc and Belaire. Quavo injects himself into the colorful scene taking on the role of an artist, meticulously painting away at his blank canvas with a parrot mysteriously chilling out on his shoulder. Chance is the last of the co-stars to make an appearance, and the setting immediately switches to a Gatsby-themed party, as the squad dances the night away.
Khaled joined Apple Music’s Beats 1 to chat with Zane Lowe and he couldn’t have been more jubilant to let the world hear his latest mega offering. “This is going to be one of the biggest anthems in the world,” he boldly stated. “I feel like every record I put out is going to be my biggest. If I say it’s a single, I’m going to make sure it’s my biggest. ‘Father of Asahd’ is going to have eleven songs because it’s my eleventh album,” he added.
