The latest trailer for 20th Century Fox’s Once Upon a Deadpool heralds the Dec. 12 arrival of the PG-13 re-edit (or “reimagining”) of the R-rated Deadpool 2. The kid-friendly (or 13-ish friendly) OUAD will play a limited holiday theatrical engagement through Dec. 24.
One dollar of every ticket sold in the United States throughout the run will be donated to Fudge Cancer (the nonprofit organization, which raises awareness and provides education about early cancer detection and prevention, has temporarily changed its name from its usual R-rated version. Think Ralphie in A Christmas Story).
The new trailer picks up where the last one left off, with a captive Fred Savage and Deadpool debating the merits of Canadian rock band Nickelback. Reynolds’ Deadpool likes; Savage, not so much.
“You were nicer as a kid,” Deadpool snarks about the former Wonder Years star, who relents, gets in the holiday spirit and joins in a spirited sing-along on the Juno Award-winning (among many, many other trophies) Nickelback’s “How You Remind Me.”
