The single was written by Poo Bear and follows Anitta’s first English-language song, “Will I See You,” as the the second release of her “Checkmate” campaign, which finds the singer releasing a new song every month in English, Spanish, or Portuguese.
“Singing in a different language is a challenge, but ‘Will I See You’ was so much fun to create,” says Anitta. “My Brazilian supporters gave the song so much love and so I’m very excited for my old and new fans from all over the world to hear this one.”
For Alesso, the single follows his Hailee Steinfeld collab, “Let Me Go,” featuring Florida Georgia Line and watt, which is currently rising in the charts and sits at No. 7 on Hot Dance/Electronic Songs.
“This is one of my favorite projects that I’ve worked on,” Alesso says. “It was a song that was a lot of hard work because you want to make sure it’s perfect, but it was also easy to create because Anitta is so talented and fun to work with.”
