If this trailer is anything to go by, watching this movie will be a powerful and moving experience. ‘A United Kingdom’ tells the story of the true-life romance between Seretse Khama and his wife Ruth Williams, starring David Oyelowo and Rosamund Pike.
Based on the book ‘Colour Bar’ by Susan Williams, this British period biopic is directed by Amma Asante.
Due for release in November 2016, it is scheduled to be screened at the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival, and will be the opening film at the 60th London Film Festival. This will be the second year in a row that a British film directed by a woman has featured as the opening night gala screening.
